Another pretty solid use of flash. In this case, an evolution game with elegant ambient audio and nifty gameplay. Not hard by any means, but ultra addictive. Have a quick read of the instructions then start evolving. My creature is above. It took an hour and a half.
flash has it’s place – or – flow

Just got back from lunch with a few friends. A main point of discussion revolved around flash and it’s seeming demise as tool of choice for web interface design. While we all agreed that it’s time has passed as a real solution, we agreed that it did have it’s place, and does a very good job at specific tasks. Rich Media application development being one, web animation being another, and certain unique internet experiences being the last. One that id like to note stems from a bigger project that I’ve been following since inception that involves film mastermind Peter Greenaway. Listen to the attached audio file for an interesting interview with him recorded at eDIT2003. Here he talks about his new film “The Tulse Luper Suitcase”, and the plans to create more than simply a film. Extending the story into book, audio, and online format. Very interesting listen, with insight to human nature. Afterwards, check out the link below for the online portion. An online game/journey with extensive flash use to support the various forms of rich media. I think it makes an intruiging alternative art piece. Requires signup but its easy and quick.
