I too have to deeply thank Khantavy for offering this lovely up. As with our man Julian, this track has been vibe-ing my ear drums since it was delivered to my doorstep. Have also played many a game of ’shake-my-ass’ to it and prolly have a full choreographed routine ;) Tsk tsk Julian for not mentioning the bongo roll that rocks my right ear!
Side note* hail iTunes 7 for bringing cover art back into the game in a big way…

That’s how things seems to be going these days.
First, congratulations to Final Fantasy on winning the first ever Polaris Prize. As I mentioned the other week, he wasn’t my pick to win, but I know lots of people loved his album and it was definitely innovative and received lots of critical acclaim. I also said there wasn’t a single artist on the list that wasn’t deserving of the prize money. If anything FF was more so, as he was one of the few with no financial backing for his album.
To the tunes alice…
This one came from our girl Khantavy and I think she deserves a medal because this might be the best song ever written. Well maybe that’s going a bit far but there’s just so much to like about it… The beat, the whistling, the boy/girl vocal parts, the bass line, the lyrics, the chorus, the whistling!!! I’ve had this one on constant repeat. Thanks Fantasy!
Edit: Khantavy informs me that I failed to mention the bongos that come in during the chorus in my list of what makes this song great. I feel deeply shamed and apologetic to have let her down after she provided such a gem.

In our age of bigger is better, in your face, bold, brash examples of leaving your mark, this little bit of street art left me feeling refreshed and thinking that all is going to be well.
The concept also appeals to my tendency towards curiosity when walking around exploring new places. While these little treats are uber tiny, i can only imagine my delight to stumble upon a micro scene of a bike courier trackstanding at the curb beside me as I attempt my own stand.
Kudos for the creativity, and the ability to resist the urge to hog the saturated spotlight.
